“God hath given us a large liberty in Christ; let us not go too far, lest we forfeit the spiritual part of it. Therefore it is a part of sobriety, if it be likely to prove a snare, to moderate and bridle the affections. …that may be lawful to one which is not lawful to another. If the thing affected be lawful, yet it it be likely to give offence, or to procure a blot upon ourselves, it is a part of sobriety to moderate ourselves, and abstain from it. Titus 2:12, 1 Cor. 6:12, 1 Cor. 8:13” –Thomas Manton “Works” Vol. 16 p. 121
Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
