“Almost every Sunday we read one of the Ten Commandments in the liturgy of our worship service. We do so because if we do not listen to the law, we will never see our need for the gospel. The goal and purpose of the law is Christ. God did not give the law as a way for us to attain status in his family. The law was given to show us the righteousness of God. It was given so that we can see the perfect righteousness of God and by comparison see ourselves, warts and all, and despair of our own righteousness. The law sends us rushing to the cross and running for grace. The law exposes our sin, and anything tha exposes our sin screams to our need for the Savior, whose righteousness alone can justify.” — R. C. Sproul “Romans” p. 347
Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
