“God is a free agent, and though he has tied us to means, yet himself is tied to none. He has promised to create deliverance for his people…When the Lord created the world, he made it out of no pre-existing matter; so though we see no means how he should deliver his people, yet he being almighty, can without means, by weak means, yea, by contrary means, deliver them. He can do it instantly; when the hearts of his people are prepared for reformation and deliverance, the work shall be done suddenly. It shall be done irresistibly. The work of reformation it is the Lord’s and it shall propser in despite of all its enemies. It is of God and it shall stand.” –George Swinnock, “Works of” Vol. 4, p. 275
Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
