” ‘Jesus replied, What is impossible with men is possible with God.” (Luke 18:27)…when he now tells them, ‘What is impossible with men,’ he means exactly that. At every point, beginning, middle, end, man is completely dependent on God for salvation. Of himself man can do nothing. If he is to be saved at all he must be born again or ‘from above’ (John 3:3,5). In order to reach out to God by faith–God-given faith! (Ephesians 2:8)–man must be enabled and supported every day, hour, minute, and second by God’s omnipotent grace. …whatever detracts from the sovereignty of God in the salvation of men stands condemned.” –William Hendriksen “Luke” p. 836
Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
