“It is a great thing to die in faith. It is peculiarly blessed to die in strong faith, vs. 20-22. ‘In the history of the patriarchs, we see what faith can do to smooth the dying pillow. With what composure and peace they fell asleep in the faith of God’s promise! Although they spoke only of the earthly Canaan, yet doubtless that was regarded only as a type, or shadow, of the heavenly Cannan.” Owen: ‘It is an eminent mercy, when faith not only holds out to the end, but waxeth strong towards the last conflict with death.” –William S. Plumer “Hebrews” p. 474
Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
