Gracious Promises of the Gospel

“There are the gracious promises of the gospel, by which all necessary things are secured to us.  And though the dispensation of particular blessings are reserved to God’s good pleasure, yet there are certain general promises which concern us for the present, of which we may be confident; as that God will never utterly fail his people:  Heb. 8:5 ‘He hath said, I will never leave thee nor farsake thee;’ that he will dispose of all things for the best to them that love God, Rom. 8:28; that he will not leave us to insupportable difficulties, 1 Cor. 10:13.  This should satisfy us.”  –Thomas Manton “Works” Vol. 21, p. 200

About Maureen Stohlmeyer

Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
