“Satan will try to lead us into hard thoughts of God. ‘With this engine did he batter and overthrow all mankind on one.’ It grieves the Spirit when we accept Satan’s slanders. The Lord suffers nothing worse at the hands of His own people, knowing what fruit this bitter root is likely to produce.” –Notes by Mike Stohlmeyer on “Works of John Owen, Vol. 2 – Communion with God” p. 35
Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
