To Rest In God

“To ‘rest’ in God means that we are not seeking for a more suitable and desirable object. (Ps. 73:25) God’s loving mercy is better than life; we can find more sweetness in God than in a long life, even if attended with its best blessings. This sweetness can be ours even in the jaws of death.”  –Notes by Mike Stohlmeyer on “Works of John Owen, Vol. 2 – Communion with God” p. 26

About Maureen Stohlmeyer

Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
