“Whatever your grief and sorrow is, God has sufficient consolation for you. He is able to make persons rejoice in fiery flames and to keep them so that so much as their hair shall not be singed in Nebuchadnezzar’s furnace (Dan. 3:27). If a man is afflicted in his outward goods with losses and poverty, God is able in such a case to make a man richer than the kings of the earth with or without earthly riches. If we are afflicted in body by grievous pain or languishing sickness, God is able to give us inward health and so renew our inward man as our outward man decays so that the comfort of this spiritual health shall be far greater than the affliction of bodily illness.” –Jonathan Edwards “The Blessing of God” p. 354
Grateful to have been married to my wonderful husband Michael for nearly 35 years who is now with the Lord, I would like to share from writers from the past who have strengthened our faith and walk with Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer. His walk with God was deeply enriched by the writings of authors from the past and I dedicate this blog to him and to them.
